Laager 21 Birthday Bash & Sports Weekend

The Laager 21 family gathered at Altydwater Outspan from 21–23 August 2026 for a weekend packed with celebration, competition, and camaraderie. The festivities began with Natasha’s birthday on Friday, complete with cake, disco lights, and a lively dance party.

Saturday brought the much‑anticipated Club Games sports day, where members dressed in house colours and showed off their gees during the march past. The games were filled with laughter, playful rivalry, and even a few “cheating” moments caught on video. The tuck shop was a highlight, with creative treats like blue mayonnaise hot dogs and plenty of sweets to fuel the fun.

Later, everyone united to watch rugby together, followed by Michael’s delicious chicken Akni and sambals. The evening was spent around a roaring geselsvuur, with DJs rotating playlists and campers enjoying music and fellowship late into the night.

Sunday’s indaba concluded with awards:

• 🥇 Blue House – 1st place

• 🥈 Yellow House – 2nd place

• 🥉 Red House – 3rd place

• 🟩 Green House – 4th place

• 🎉 Best Gees – Laager 21

The celebrations ended with a rainbow birthday cake representing all houses, leftover Akni shared as padkos, and heartfelt thanks to every member for making the weekend “one for the books.”

Laager 21 once again proved that camping, friendship, and laughter create memories that last a lifetime.
